    Event Description:
     Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area and Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation is teaming up to offer the Summer Earn and Learn Program (SEAL Program) again this year.
    The SEAL Program’s purpose is to provide students with minor disabilities workplace readiness training, work experience and transferable skill learning opportunities through a paid summer work experience/internship.
    All students have been vetted and are able to participate in the Summer Earn and Learn program.
    Students selected to participate will work a maximum of 20 hours a week for a total of 5 weeks beginning the week of June 17- August 10, 2019.  Work schedules can be customized to fit your needs along with the student’s schedule.
     
     
    Workforce Solutions and TWC Vocational Rehabilitation will
    • Cover all wages and Workers Compensation Insurance costs.
    • Conduct an orientation and training session prior to student(s) begin working.
    • Sponsor a Meet & Greet/Job Fair (tentatively Mid- May) event where you will be able to meet, interview, and select student candidates. Specific dates and locations will be announced in a follow email.
    • Accommodations will be provided as required by participating students.
    Employers Responsibilities:
    • Provide a job description for each different job you would like a worker/trainee assigned.
    • Provide enough work to keep a worker/trainee engaged and provide proper equipment, training and materials to carry out assignments.
    • Maintain permanent time and attendance records for each worker/trainee and submit time sheets on a weekly basis as scheduled.
    •  Participant in an employer orientation.
