Rita Turner has devoted her career to serving others and strengthening the communities she calls home. As the Community Engagement Manager for The Caring Place since 2008, she has played a vital role in building meaningful partnerships, engaging community stakeholders, and leading fundraising efforts that help provide essential resources and support to neighbors facing hardship throughout Georgetown, Jarrell, and northern Williamson County.
Before joining The Caring Place, Rita served with the Round Rock Police Department, where she established the department's Victim Services Program and was a founding member of the Williamson County Sexual Assault Response Team. Her work in victim advocacy helped create compassionate systems of support for individuals and families during some of their most difficult moments.
Rita earned her degree in Behavioral Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, providing the foundation for a career dedicated to advocacy, collaboration, and community service.
A lifelong resident of Georgetown for more than 55 years, Rita has witnessed firsthand the remarkable growth of the region while remaining deeply committed to preserving its spirit of neighbors helping neighbors. She is passionate about connecting people with opportunities to give back and finds great fulfillment in seeing the lasting impact The Caring Place has on the lives of local families and individuals.
Known for her compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service, Rita continues to inspire others through her dedication to building a stronger, more caring community; one relationship at a time.
